The astronaut museum.

Since it is about 104 degrees outside we Texans are taking cover. Last week my friend Kelly took Owen and some other extra kids to the Astronaut museum. It looks like they had a great time. And doesn't he look handsome in his little suit?

Lily's precious items.

Isn't she beautiful? But that's a different post. This one is about these three bags that she carries all around and chooses a different hiding spot for them every couple of hours. These bags are like hostage victims. Their moved around a lot, placed in cramped dark places where she is the only one who knows about there whereabouts. When it's time for bed she will grab my hand and lead me to their secret undisclosed location where. Then we pick them all up and she goes to sleep with all of them.

The contents are random and varied; a flashlight, walkie talkie, baby doll, four broken zu zu pets, a comb, Spongebob book, Spongebob action figure, the Little Mermaid toy, kitchen tongs, and a bracelet. If anyone tries to touch them or look inside, WATCH OUT! She will and has used deadly force. Or she will throw the largest tantrum you have seen. Precious it isn't but funny for sure! Don't tell her I've happened upon her cargo a couple of times while they were in her secret location. And I took some stuff out just to mess with her.

Even daddy has things.

When Chad was a teenager (15?) he and his friend Austin and Rick made a time capsule. This past May was the twenty year mark and they opened it up. First Bill had to go to Chad's childhood home and dig it up from underneath the concrete basketball standard that they so wisely placed it underneath. Bill reported that it was no small feat. Once recovered shipped down to us where we first saw it's mysterious look. Very very rusted. Chad speculated that the can of Jolt cola that Rick threw in must have exploded that first winter (shocking).

Chad and Austin (Rick was MIA in another state too far to come) opened it up and checked out the contents. Lots of sports memorabilia, a paper, explosives, and more sports memorabilia.

Oh and they all wrote letters about their teenage lives. The funny part was when they wrote down who the liked it was all the same girl! Oh the memories.

Sunscreen?

I'm sure she was just trying to make sure she was all covered.

This is the place park with friends.

While in Utah and after our week in Park City we spent a day and went to the "This is the Place Park". With my friend Tara whose evil husband made her move away from Texas to Utah. I'm still trying to find it in my heart to forgive him. That aside we had fun letting the children (she has five) run around. They made candles, rode horses, played in a tee-pee, rode a little chu chu train, held chickens (who did NOT want to be held), played in tiny house, got a shave and stamped some leather.

It is a neat place that overlooks the valley of Salt Lake where the pioneers first came into the valley. There are historic replicas of houses, barns, shops and dirt roads. The kids played for hours and had a ball. Tara and I got to catch up and make plans for the next two days. While in Utah I have to soak her up. Fun times.

I'm sure they felt the spirit.

To be perfectly clear, I am sure that they did not and that they drove it away from anyone that was. They were their usual rowdy selves plus some extra on this day. We went to see where mom and dad were married with Uncle Doug and VV. I was annoyed and they were entertained. People staring, running around chasing, splashing in the water, loud voices, teasing (of course), crawling on the ground.

Oh, lets not forget the two shining moments. All the kids went up the famous steps to the temple and then the horror. . . they all started pounding on the door! AGGHHHH the horror. Got that situation under control to have them standing there pretending it was their wedding day. But obnoxiously done no less. Then for grand humiliation situation number two, Lily as you know runs absolutely everywhere she goes. Thus she is always ten steps ahead of us. I was chasing her down when I turned the corner to find her. . .naked. Yes NAKED. In the middle of Temple square no less. Yes, she peeled off all her clothing and was crawling up into the fountain to go "wimming" she reported.

Tours over. Time to go home.

There are two peole to make fun of here.

Let me start of by saying this sweet little girl here with Lily is a neighbor of mine and I adore her. And her fashion sense. When I was her age I rocked similar gear and would have coveted what I couldn't get my hands on (like the fingerless gloves for sure!) Lily loves her and when she is around these two disappear and then when they do appear this is what they've been up to. A dog, why the heck not. No lease? No worries, lets use this scarf I've got over here. Perfect.
