On another day, the days are all kind of running together the 'legend. . .dairy' crew as we called ourselves went on an adventure. We hiked up to the Iao Needle, on our way up Chad managed to get both his sneakers totally wet in a stream thanks to his deftness. I, of course was there to laugh at him. We got to the viewing point and noticed a rugged trail that continue onward so we did. The trail was this tiny tiny dirt path that looked to be a terrible place if a mud slide suddenly happened. Since the trail hugged the side of the mountain and a straight down cliff was on the other side.

We came, we saw and then we went, but not before picking up a hitchhiker for Jared. From the outside it looked like it was a very wise choice; pretty face and nice body. But man! Once inside our car, she opened her mouth and we all immediately knew that drugs do indeed fry brain cells. Thirty minutes later we managed to dump her out at the local Kmart and we went on our way. Duuuudddee, like that was so righteous (say it like you are completely stoned and a wee bit slow then you'll have an accurate perception of what we subjected ourselves to).

We decided the day was still young and we should go up and see the sunset at Haleakala. After all, I'm already awake and it sure beats the heck out of waking up at 2am to see the sunrise. The three of us along with two other people were the ONLY people there to witness it. We had a special moment. Then, food was on all of our minds! We'd seen earlier that day a quaint little town at the base of the volcano that had high hopes for some Italian food. It certainly lived up to our expectations and was a great end to an adventurous day.
