Road back from Hana.
Last stop before we began our trek back but still past the town of Hana was Seven Sacred Pools. We hiked up the trail and swam around for some time there. Jumping in the refreshing water (code for chilly, not terrible but still. . .refreshing) the Meads all swam about together. Jared and my mom put their feet in and documented our experiences. We packed it up and set off for the way back home, but not before Mr. Mead lost his sunglasses. Being the cheery good natured man that he is he pissed and moaned for about ten minutes and then went back to his usual self.
The road home was awesome! On one side you have the ocean the other the backside of Haleakala. Sweeping vistas of this mammoth volcano and at some parts the road went down to one lane. The road hugged a cliff that plunged straight down to the pacific. It was all but abandoned too, we saw only a handful of cars for the couple of hours it took us to drive back. It was peaceful, so much that at one point everyone in the car but Chad and and I were asleep.
